Starting in May of 2016, I was the Merchandise Intern for Perfect Game USA in Fort Myers, Florida. After one summer working with PG, I then returned in the Summer of 2017 for a second year.
As a merchandise intern for Perfect Game in Florida, I helped the Assistant Manager of On-Site Merchandise, Cody Barnes with all of the different merchandise needs for Perfect Game's operations in Florida. Perfect Game is based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa but they run tournaments all over the country.
Specifically, my responsibilities included designing and creating new merchandise; selling and tracking all products and managing inventory; as well as creating sales reports and summaries for each event that was held.
During one given weekend, there could have been four tournaments or more running in Fort Myers. It was definitely crazy at times but it was never a bad experience.
Perfect Game taught me a lot about myself in several different ways. Not only did I pack up and move across the country, but I did it twice. It was such a rewarding experience and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Perfect Game was definitely the kickstart of my career and I'm very thankful for everything that I learned in my time there.
